Description
Former All-American amateur wrestler Jack Swagger signed with WWE not long after graduating from college and worked through a few development territories before debuting on the ECW brand in 2008.

Within a few months on ECW, Swagger defeated Matt Hardy for the ECW Championship and held the title for a few months. Swagger moved on to Raw as part of a trade, then won the Money in the Bank ladder match at the following WrestleMania.

Swagger moved to SmackDown as the result of cashing in his MitB contract on World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho, who had just been attacked by Edge. Following a short run with SmackDown's top belt, Swagger began moving down the card. He held the United States Championship and tagged with Dolph Ziggler with Vickie Guerrero as their manager.

In September 2012, in the middle of a long losing streak, Swagger told Raw GM AJ Lee that he needed some time off. When he returned in early 2013, Swagger moved to the top of the card alond his new manager Zeb Colter and a new, patriotic gimmick. The "Real American" won an elimination chamber match and the right to face World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio at WrestleMania 29. Although Swagger was unsuccessful in claiming the title, the new gimmick took off and evolved into a tag team with Cesaro. While the "Real American" Swagger was a heel, mostly due to his manager's xenophobic rants, the gimmick would again morph into a babyface patriot role towards the end of Swagger's WWE run.

Swagger signed with Lucha Underground in 2018 and began appearing as Jake Strong.

He's talked pretty openly about wanting to wrestle there - I wasn't too surprised, but nice to see him pop up on Dynamite.
