One of the top competitors in the Smackdown division, Chris Benoit debuted in 2000 as one of four defectees from the now-defunct World Championship Wrestling as a member of 'The Radicalz'. Since then, he's continued to impress the WWE Universe with his illustrious technique inside the squared circle, with an impressive array of accomplishments; becoming the first ever WWE Tag Team Champion (alongside Kurt Angle), becoming the runner-up in both April's No. 1 Contendership tournament for the World Title(losing to John Cena) and the WWE United States tournament (losing to Eddie Guerrero at Vengeance), and winning the 2004 Royal Rumble, becoming the second person to win the Rumble from the number one entrant. Sadly, however, this would be the last time however we'd see Benoit compete in the Smackdown division for over a year, as he would defect over to the Raw division to successfully challenge, and defeat, Triple H & Shawn Michaels for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania 20.
