As Nomad said and still applies in this year. And it's happening constantly. Unless I give the ai an order to stand every few minutes, there's always some nutjob at the back, crawling. And usually, there's one or two others with him, whom he's slowing down as well.
Another thing is that they are constantly falling into "ready" state, where they stop following you, unlesss you give them that command again.

sometimes AI will go prone and refuse to get up so you have your squad of 5 and you take out the enemy patrol and start moving on to the object and little timmy the machine gunner is 300m behind shouting "WHERE ARE YOU" because he hasnt figured out how to remove his belt buckle from the ground yet.

Let me explain what this mod does: FFIS (firefight improvement system) automatically gives the AI movement orders during a battle and makes them shoot alot more. Machine gunners & Automatic Rifleman shoot for long continuous volleys and have a shit ton more ammo.
The only downside is that the AI is ALWAYS set on "attack mode" and won't defend a position.
The Arma 3 vanilla AI is bad but I would say FFIS is an improvement.

I gave this mod a thumbs up though...

I'm not sure how this mod affects vehicles though...
But infantry battles feel more intense.
