F-17 Hammerhead

The F-17 Hammerhead is a medium class fighter, lighter weight and more maneuverable than larger heavy fighters, but not as heavily armed. However, it is well enough armed to pack a solid punch with dual railguns, dual miniguns, 4 guided missile launchers, and 4 plasma cannon. Meant to strike fast and dodge enemy fire easily, this plane makes the pilot the limit of how well it evades enemy return fire. Light layer armor is greatly enhanced by internal redundancies and heavy component firewalling inside. Fuel range and loiter/combat time is excellent, allowing long combat engagements without worry about refueling.

This fighter is a second generation medium fighter, and as such is fully Omnicruiser operations compatible, by S.W.O.R.D. Corp.

The F-17 is a medium, dual main thruster fighter packing more armor and weapons than the smaller light fighters like FA-7 Scythe series, and greater internal redundancy to increase durability, the Hammerhead series brings more punch to carrier based operations than light fighters while only taking up slightly more space.
