Vas's Power Distribution

Description
Short Description: This will alter your distribution of power so that life support and some critical systems will still work, when running low on power.

Let me explain each resource group for you so you can understand why mine is better than KeenSWH's version. I'll list them in KeenSWH's distribution order.
Defense, Conveyor, Factory, Door, Utility, Charging, Gyro, Thrust, **Generators**, Battery

Defense - Your defensive systems, the most critical portion of your ship as it protects your ship's existence.

Conveyor - The main pipeline of your ship, carrying fuel to your reactors and thrusters, Oxygen to your rooms, items from container to container, ammunition to your turrets.

Factory - High power long duration power consumption facilities that smelt or produce items. Usually the main cause of power drains in ships.

Door - You walk through them.

Utility - Life Support, cryo tubes, lights, many things in your ship that consume small amounts of power. Some Utilities consume a lot, but your primary critical systems are here too.

Charging - Jump drives, the only thing in the game that belongs to this group.

Gyro - Small power consumption devices that help you rotate your ship.

Thrust - Your ship's thrusters. Hydrogen thrusters consume practically no energy at all, Ion a lot.

Generators -

Battery - Your power storage.

Keen's version has it so that life support, doors, thrust, gyros, will shutdown if you have too much power going into your refineries/assemblers. There goes your ship, if you happen to die, and can't spawn back at it, and can't shut off the refineries before the ship smashes into an asteroid cause the thrusters couldn't engage.

Whoops, your jump drives just sucked up all the power, now your gyros and thrusters don't work till you turn off jump drives.

So, I've changed the distribution to make more sense. Factories are near the end of the list now, as they consume power for a long duration of time in generally large amounts. Jump Drives are now second to last, so that they can still be charged but won't shut down your ship in the process.

Defense, Conveyors, Doors, Utilities, Gyro, Thrust, Factory, Charging, Generators, Battery

Now you can go through doors when low on power, your utilities will still function most likely, you can stop rotating a wildly spinning ship, and thrust while factories are engaged. Solar power is now useful because almost all the things above Thrust in my list, are low power devices.

I don't think this alters how the batteries work, no. I just changed the orders a little so that factory stuff would be lower in the list. That way you can still control your ship without shutting down your factories first for sudden combat control needs.

I'm not sure. its been a while. Just give it a try and see.

What I mainly did was change the order in which power is supplied to machines, so that important things have power first and less critical things get power last.

Does this change the order in which power is drawn FROM producers and batteries? That's something I want to change.I want batteries to be purely supplemental but if I put them in discharge mode, power producers stop producing by the amount that the batteries are providing, which isn't how I want them and not how they behave IRL.

It should be, this doesn't do anything advanced or complex. Its an extremely basic simple mod that shouldn't ever break.

I've prepared an update that will be live within a few minutes. Keen added a new group to power system that I think might be the engines. I placed it in Keen's logical order after batteries, and put ** around it in the description above to show its location and that its the new thing added today.

Yea, Hydro engines seem to do odd things with batteries, I don't quite understand it.

It was charging my battery normally on auto mode then randomly stopped, changing to recharge or discharge didnt solve it

Very interesting indeed because with my issue, I was powering my ship with a hydro engine.

It did also have a reactor which also would not give out power when it had uranium during the bug. But, hydro gen was used regardless.
