LVL3_HV5 (steel & plastic design)

Description
Note: Take a look at the LVL3_HV5B version for all-steel construction (no plastic).

Low cost HV for early game mobility. Designed as a small fighter style craft with minimal devices to keep the weight and required resources low.

First 3 pics are the blueprinted craft, the others show the upgraded thrusters.

This build uses the new hover thrusters and a few level 3 thrusters. Once you achieve level 7 you can replace the two external thrusters with the better thruster jets (see pics). This build is not designed to utilize the standard hover engines since it relies on the hover thrusters for thrust, replacing the rear-facing thrusters just adds a bit of speed/acceleration and makes it even more fun to drive.

General Details:
- Unlock Level: 3
- Size Class: 1 (0.17)

Required Resources:
- Copper: 74
- Iron: 100
- Plastic: 119
- Silicon: 61

The long tail just makes it look so smooth. Very nice design! :D

@Sabaithal plastic can be easy to get but not always. One Grain gives 20 plastic and can be found in swamps on the edge of a fair amount of lakes.

I think at the moment it is a good idea to have two versions - one plastic, one steel - so that if you do have the plastic you can save on the iron you have spent ages mining ^^

Makes sense. However plastic is considerably more difficult to acquire early game than iron (or it was last I checked, which was 8.2), so building this craft would be quite difficult.

@Sabaithal - the underside of the craft is plastic. This keeps the weight of the craft at a minimum, which means it will perform better than a solid steel version would.

Unusual design, but looks good regardless. Question: why does this HV have such a high plastic requirement?
