SEVENTEEN's Workshop Battle Drones

Description
Updated for 0.5.3

This drone uses magnetic propulsion to launch remote detonated explosives at enemies. Extremely difficult to control.
Note: The ship fires once when it is spawned in, and has a camera tracker attached to the bomb so you can easily see where your shot went.

Controls:
W-Move forward
S-Move backwards
A-Turn ship clockwise
D-Turn ship counterclockwise
Q-Toggle flamers on/off
E-Toggle shields on/off
Spacebar-Toggles camera trackers allowing you to see further ahead
Left click(Mouse0)-Detonate explosive
Right click(Mouse1)-Launch Explosive
Use the sensors on the front of the ship to aim the weapon. For best accuracy try not to shoot while moving.

That'd be why my mistake XD

@OneHellofaDragon I updated the drone to include switches to turn the flamers and shields on and off using Q and E. I tested the drone and it did not seem to run out of energy, but regardless the ability to turn off the shields will help conserve energy. The flamers aren't supposed to use energy so maybe if you haven't researched the -80% energy upgrade that's why you're running out of energy.

There isn't much you can do about the explosive making it out of the barrel.

@OneHellofaDragon I thought there was enough power but I may be wrong, I'll look into it soon and maybe update it. I'm aware that there are problems with the explosive making it far but I'm not sure how to improve it or fix these issues.

Why are the shields and everything constantly enabled? there isn't enough power to keep the thing working most of the time. Most of the time the payload doesn't even make it out the chamber.

@PotatoGrant I'm sure you could build something similar for sumo but I don't know how effective it would be. The magnets would take up a decent amount of space and the payload probably wouldn't have much force behind it. That said, maybe I'm wrong and it would be great.

Is it possible to build something similar to this using Sumo rules? The payload would have to be replaced with a block, but it might work.

@Pholcidae Yup! Set the detection to "Own Drone".

Ah ok, I never thought of that. Are sensors able to detect friendly blocks now?
lvl 10 mage  [author] 4 Oct, 2018 @ 7:23am
@Pholcidae The magnets both pull and push the explosives forward. They are by default set to repel, but as the explosives enter the radius of the magnet they hit a sensor that switches the magnets to attract briefly. As a result the magnets pull the bomb forward, and once it has passed the sensor the magnets repel the bomb away from them. Hope this explanation helps.
