The Struggle For The Balkans. (1400)

Описание
This historical scenario takes place in the savage lands of the Balkans around the year 1400.
Mayor powers try, by use of force and diplomacy, to get a stable foothold in the region. One of these powers is Hungary.
Once a mighty kingdom ruled by the ancient arpad dynasty the country has suffered from disasters and civil wars.
Two mayor factions within the kingdom now fight eachother for influence over the king, Sigismund of Luxemburg, who is still missing after a defeat
at the battle of Nicopolis. In the south the rising power are the Ottomans. They recently conquered Bulgaria and seek to find their way into the weakened Hungary.
In the Alps the duchy of Austria now led by the ambitious duke Albert of Habsburg is looking to conquer new lands and claim himselve the kaiser title.
Meanwhile the Italian citystate of Venice seeks to expand his maritime empire along the Dalmatian coastline seeking powerfull allies in the Hungarians and the Bosnians.
Finaly you have the Slavic people living in the area. For to long have they been subjected to the rule of foreign kings and a rebellion is brewing.
Will the Bosnians and the Wallachians succeed in trowing off their shackles and forge a mighty Slavic kingdom for their own?

This prebuild diplomacy scenario allows you to start off as one of these 8 important factions in the Balkan region. Through diplomacy and war you
will be able to expand your borders and fulfill your objectives. The first player who manages to fulfill all his objectives wins the game.
There is no allied victory possible for only one nation can dominate the Balkans!

NOTE:

Read HINTS and SCOUTS for VICTORY CONDITIONS and INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR FACTION
You can rebuild any existing castle by building one of your own inside the city walls. Also some cities without a castle like TEMESVAR, BIHAR, SARAJEVO and TARGOVISTE can be rebuild with a castle.
To capture a city you just have to build a castle inside the walls. To destroy a city you just have to destroy the main tower or the main castle.
Castles are placed free over the map but only those inside city walls give revenue every 15min. Remember that stone is a scarse commodity on this map.
From V4 on Purple can marry his princess to the Faction Leader of Wallachia in Budapest to make a Slavic alliance. If he does both declare war on the Ottomans.

We played it a few times on DE. Just need to find the map and paste it in the DE directory for it to work.

And the American flag isn't a symbol of death and destruction for indigenous peoples, or the flag of the United Kingdom the same for African, Aboriginal, Boer, or other respective oppressed peoples? I've had this as my profile picture for years, and I will do as I wish. Many flags represent Imperialism and oppression, it just depends on if you're going to be a bitch about it: hence in my case, I'm an Ashkenazi Jew - but you won't see my whine and bitch whenever somebody carves a swastika into the bathroom stall or on a desk at school. I deal with it. So deal with it.

@AEYYMAO: For balancing purposes that would be way more easy for me just to give everyone around the same strength. The problem is that this is a historical map. Making Wallachia the same strength as the Ottomans would just be very unhistorical. So the way i make the map is by giving better units, better locations, less enemies or easier objectives to weaker factions. I create incentives for players to not attack the weaker players till later in the game. You'll see that by attacking you, the Ottomans will have to do a 3 v 1 in east an almost unwinnable feat. When the Ottomans are fools and descide to attack you anyways you can just choose the hungarian side who will be more then happy to help you fight the Ottomans. Scorpions and skirmishers in the chokepoints can stall the Ottomans till help arrives.

The reason i put, against what was the case in that time, some Wallachian castles on the south bank of the danube is to make sure the Wallachians cant just enemy the Ottomans from the start and hold out and giving them an incentive to at least at the start seek Ottoman protection.

I'm sure it can be done, however it felt really unsatisfying to be immediately enemied by green, and forced to watch as red annihilated purp and grey to win. It might just be a personal preferance, but i like when all 8 players have around the same power level in a map that has victory conditions that involve conquering all the nearby players.

@AEYYMAO: Orange can be incredibly powerfull if you play it right. The best strategy with orange is to at first side with green and making him vassalise you. In most cases he will allow you for your help to take Temes. Then the only thing you need to do is sit back while yellow gets attacked by green, teal or grey and then take his minor forts from him. When all is done some petards will do the tick destroying the green castle. Orange is forced to play a good diplo game and to guard his chokepoints well. Given your kingmaker position between the hungarians and the ottomans and your access to many chokepoints, extra scorpions and all fully upgraded counters against the both factions orange is a real threat to be be reckoned with. If you want more proof i can give you the names of players who already won games with orange including myselve ;)
