Pittsburgh, PA

Description
The map based on the true Pennsylvania post-industrial river city is now available on the workshop! Face American style sprawl in the beautiful Appalachian region. With mountains and rivers carving up the landscape, these obstacles will make building transportation between remote districts challenging, while you must deal with American style sprawl.

Pittsburgh is the second largest city in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. It was once a crossroads of industry; where two rivers meet to form the Ohio river, it was a center of coal, aluminum, railroad, and steel. However, since the beginning of the 20th century, most of the industry has left the area, and the city has transitioned successfully to a service based economy, with many fortune-500 companies, including Heinz, having operations in the city. The city is also famous for its three sports teams, most notably, the Pittsburgh Steelers. The city is also attempting to remove its past image as a grimy industrial town, and is now one of the leading green cities in America. A center of commerce, culture, entertainment, and politics, Pittsburgh is a leading global city.

The map is obviously based on Pittsburgh, but not accurate. Many areas were omitted, and the city is not 100% accurate, but is meant to offer the challenges of a city with such incredible geography and infrastructure. Make use of the many highways and other special features to connect the various areas of the city, and build a successful network.

I personally like to play with double population, and double day length, but that is just to increase the traffic and chaos. I would recommend turning city growth off to prevent things like the stadiums being replaced by apartments/small stores.

Thanks a lot for your hard effort. Any advice for rules concerning your map settings to make this the most realistic experience?

As someone who used to live in Pittsburgh, this map is AMAZING! Now I can tackle all those pesky transportation problems that the Port Authority & PennDOT won't! ;)

Matt, I flew out of Pittsburgh a few times too. I'd love to add the airport, but of course the game lacks these :(.
Rogue_1066, I am very sorry to hear that you had problems with the map. Has this happened with any other map from the workshop? Since this is uploaded straight from CiM 2 itself, I'm not sure if there is much I can do, but you may be able to find some help in the CiM 2 steam forums, or perhaps on CimX.
