Mjolnir Class Cruiser

The Mjolnir class cruiser (formerly destroyer) is a class 3 size, triple main thruster warship with dual bridges (combat bridge internally, observation bridge visible), strong fire power, thick armor, and survivability in spades. Internal defenses consist of access point controlled automated guns. Smaller than an Essex class carrier, this destroyer is intended as an escort for the carrier, or can operate independently on patrol duties. No fighter or hover craft docking facilities on board, this is a pure warship. Entry to the ship is aft, bottom side, defended by dual mounted turrets for landings on hostile worlds.

Basic shaping inspired by the Dreadnought class battleship (scaled down to cruiser class) of the Earth Defense Force from Space Battleship Yamato.

The Mjolnir Class Cruiser is the workhorse of the Fleet Tactical Battlegroup doctrine, acting as close escort to Essex Class Escort Carriers and as direct line combatants. All Fleet Tactical Battlegroup doctrine certified ships adhere to basic survival rules and are limited to size class 5 (Mjolnir class being size class 3) as the largest vessel, and scale downwards from there. While usable in single player survival, all Fleet Tactical Battlegroup doctrine ships shine brightest when used in multiplayer with a team of players. All ships are MP and PvP ready, having heavily firewalled internal components and dual bridges (one bridge for normal flight/PvE, secondary bridge internally for PvP called a "battle bridge").

Update: Mjolnir class has been upgraded to cruiser class, though actual size class is unchanged and remains a size class 3. Nose section has been extended and sensor pods extended out further. Additional sensor pod have been mounted in nose, along with forward fin sensor pods added. Sensor pods are cosmetic changes only, no affect on ship functionality. Total ship length about 10 or so blocks longer due to extended nose section. Ship class upgraded from destroyer to cruiser due to new Kodai class better fitting the destroyer role and being somewhat smaller than Mjolnir.

Update 2: Minor paint job change to nose section. Changed forward sensor pods to face forwards. Touch up cosmetic fixes.
