The company was created in 1948 and bought by Jelson da Costa Antunes in 1968, which merged its six companies: Auto Viação São José (linked São Gonçalo to Niterói), Expresso Niterói and Rio Bonito, Expresso Itaboraí (lines between Itaboraí and São Gonçalo and internal of Itaboraí), Vispan (São Paulo-Niterói Road) and Citran (link Rio x Minas Gerais) and the old 1001 road that at the time was considered the third largest road transport company in the state of Rio de Janeiro, its first lines connected to the capital Niterói the cities of the north center, Nova Friburgo, Miracema, Campos, Macaé; the company now owns 67% of the inter-municipal lines of the state of Rio de Janeiro, with Niterói and Nova Friburgo practically 95%.

This is due to the lines that were incorporated such as: The lines of Noroeste Fluminense that belonged to Empresa Brasil S/A, which operated Rio X Itaperuna via Campos and also the Araruama X Itaperuna line of the same company.

In the 1980s, the urban sector that made the Cabo Frio x Bacaxá lines was undone, Sampaio Correia and Cabo Frio, Araruama and Iguaba, Saquarema and Cabo Frio, transferring these lines to the Salto Road and the lines that originated from the companies Autoviação São José (linked São Gonçalo to Niterói), Expresso Niterói and Rio Bonito, Expresso Itaboraí (lines between Itaboraí and São Gonçalo and internal Itaboraí) and Cachoeiras de Macacú for Viação Rio Ita Limitada, which operated in the cities of Miracema and Itaperuna, starting to make this route in exchange with this company.

In the period of the 1990s, the company like the rest of the group, undergoes a process of restructuring, modernizing its fleet and its processes. It then adopts the modern "double deck" buses, which have 2 floors and 4 axles, as well as double-class service (two classes in the same vehicle), to sell tickets through the internet, to deploy VIP lounges in the main terminals in which it operates and "Program of Mileage", similar to that of airlines.
