the second base in the series started with the "hillside base"

This one is for production, proccessing, recycling and storage. Althought it has no greenhouse it works nicely as the beginning of an foodhold on a newly explored planet.

Only the HV hangars and part of production and storage are on the floor level. All other parts are above the fog level.
So you have a clear sight while defending or hunting.

Hostile Alien visitors are best kept off with standalone weapon towers or an separate firebase.

Lights are automated by sensors, levers for production an storage areas.
Custom signals and switches for diverent devices and power can be switched from solar to fuel based, too.

For best results at placing the base you should keep the lowest blockrow under the plain.
