Jumping Puzzle 4 - Back and Forth

Description
PLEASE NOTE:
There is a bug with a blue gel dropper. I finally encountered it once myself, but never again afterwards in several reloads of the version available here in the workshop. Unfortunately, I have no idea what triggers it. Perhaps the map is too large and that breaks the gel code in some occasions? Anyways, if the bug happens in your case, please use "noclip" and just fly along the conveyor belt to the last door on its way. As of 2020, I'll perhaps split this map into its two major components as individual maps one day.

Warning: Requires puzzle solving and jumping! Please rate and (or) comment!
Please note: I am aware of a bug that is related to the autosaves I added to the map, causing counters (as in the preview picture) to start when you respawn. I'm trying to find a solution, but if you don't die, you will not encounter it ;-)

This is the 4th part of my Jumping Puzzle series. I highly recommend to play at least one of the previous maps before attempting this one, as they all share the same concept, but are much shorter than this map - so you know what you're getting into when attempting this map. You can find the previous maps here (or get the collection above):
Jumping Puzzle 1 - Introduction
Jumping Puzzle 2 - Conveyor Belt
Jumping Puzzle 3 - Detour

Estimated time to complete: 45 - 75 minutes
Difficulty: 8.5/10 - (very) hard

As the map image shows, this map does contain a special something to make your life a bit easier. Or it may have allowed me to make the map harder, who knows ;-) Jokes aside, this map is by far(!) longer and more challenging than any of the previous Jumping Puzzle maps, as it does not only contain parcours elements (which can be solved without ninja skills), but also real puzzles that require more than just jumping and path-finding. Overall, this map has some kind of adventurous feeling to it, as I put a focus on exploring on this map. You might notice a feeling of loneliness...

Need help?
In the (first) room with the conveyor belt, use the railings to reach the doors upstairs. That is, jump from a higher spot on the stairs onto the railings and walk on top of them.
Once you reached the second room with the conveyor belt (the room that contains an item dropper and only one observation room), use its button to drop a wood crate. Carry this one below the bomb dropper at the start of the map. You have to place the crate on the railing in front of the door of the observation room to get back up the pipes. With the bomb dropper, the crate can be destroyed to reveal its content: the portal gun.
With the portal gun, you can make your way to a room with a blue gel dropper. Use the gel to paint the conveyor belt and hurry back the second conveyor belt room, where you got the wood crate. There, you can jump on the conveyor belt that now carries blue gel to jump over to the other site. Few remarks: You will need one further bomb to destroy the glasses in the initial conveyor belt room. Also make sure to cover every pillar in the gel dropper room with blue paint, as it allows you to climb up without using your portal gun - and to jump from the highest pillar to the button that triggers the gel dropper. Also notice the white surfaces in the hallways between the rooms!
In the last part of the map, you will have to move through the gel dropper room again to make your way out. Having the pillars covered in gel also saves some time here.

Challenge: Can you get the companion cube to the exit?

very confusing figuring out how to finish the map

Fair enough. If I get a chance I will experiment with some of the many settings Portal 2 has, and also try the map on a different machine. Thanks for your response!

@Petutski (Part 1)
It's for 2 main reasons that I do not want to abandon this map and thus leave it active in the workshop:
The more important reason is that I cannot reproduce the error that players have reported. I used a clean installation of Portal 2 as well as the pre-implemented func_instance provided by Hammer for the bounce gel dropper, and I never witnessed this error once in my 25+ playthroughs I do for each of my maps for testing and finding unintended solutions. I also recompiled the map multiple times with different setups and options, but it keeps working for me.

(Part 2)
Due to that, I assume that it is not only me who does get the bounce gel. And given that the rotated buttons also worked in my other maps, e.g. Jumping Puzzle 3 - Detour, I can't think of that being the reason for the bug. I know the map is large, but I did my best w.r.t. optimization with fog and func_details to reduce hardware requirements as much as I could.

The second reason is the amount of time I put into this map and the content in the map. I simply do not want to abandon 100+ hours of work because of an error that I never saw myself.

Very frustrated. The blue gel does not drop. Apparently this is a known problem. Why leave a map in the workshop that is broken? Could have been a great map.

Yeah, there's no blue gel coming out. I was wonder if you could just add a lever instead to enable the button for the gel

So the issue still persists... I'm sorry to hear that. May I ask to make a screenshot in case it happens another time, with the indicator lights showing up but the empty dropper?
However, it is intended to be a short duration of 3 seconds where it dropps gel.

But since I used a func_instance for the dropper, I'm wondering what could cause the dropper not to work properly.

The blue gel dropper does not seem to work for me. The button clicks on for 2 seconds and the line to it lights up, but nothing comes out.

After restarting the map it worked a few times, long enough to get a (botched) attempt in, but now it's stopped working again.

Ah, you are correct. I am in the room with 2 observation rooms. Thank you for the hint! Going back to try again
Zorxon  [author] 12 Oct, 2018 @ 4:11am
@sominc Maybe I used a bad formulation: From you described, I assume you are in the room with two observation rooms, one on each side of the belt. However, the description is meant to point to the next room, that is, when you enter the conveyor belt room from the laboratories, the upper left door. To reach it, you have to use the railings. In that room, there is only one observation room and a dropper.
I'll try to rephrase the help-section.
