SS Knife (Advanced)

Description
Another "steam powered" vessel, this one modeled after various early 20th century steam ships.

Startup:
1. Go to bridge, activate fuel pump/valves
2. Go to main deck, trip breakers
3. Go to engine room, ignite boiler
4. Engage cutoff and reverser

Piloting:
1. Engage runabout hoist to move runabout out of water
2. Engage bow ballast tank to trim as needed to compensate for runabout on stern
3. Engage bridge controls, advance throttle and steer!
4. Cruising speed (vs. manuevring/docking) engaged on right side of helm, along with reverse gear. Top speed ~20 kts

Update 10/29: Added automatic ballast balancing system

Features:
Bow refueling ports for all fuel tanks
Bow cargo bay with functional beam crane
Stern crane with long reach for retrieving objects/people in water
Two detachable harnesses that can be hooked to either crane
Infirmary belowdecks, forward of engine room
Two Morse Code signal stations on upper deck, astern of the bridge
Stern-bounted davit and runabout for near shore operations
Single bow ballast tank for trim
Automatic bilge pumps

Design issues:
No bathroom
Boiler smokebox mysteriously fills with endless water, no matter what - keep smokebox door closed! (seems to be bugged)
Runabout consistently fills with water - no holes, floats, bilge pumps work
No radar (1900s, there was no radar)
Flying bridge throttle and helm controls nonfunctional
Horrid turning radius, especially in the wind - may be linked to the smokebox water and list

Enjoy!

Hi! No, this isn't based on anyone else's ships - my own design I cooked up while being frustrated by my side wheeler. I wanted something much easier to control and steer. Glad you like it!

Great ship! I see some similarities between my ships and yours, are your ships based off my ships? If so, you did a good job replicating it. The only thing I would recommend is making the ship longer. Other than that this is great!
