Founder of Aperture Science. He put his life into science; his blood, sweat, and tears, but not his money. He and his assistaint, Caroline, kept busy at work on making history the new tomorrow, and vise versa. Unfortunately, he had brought his ambition for science to far. He used moon rocks to create a gel to make a surface that a device called the Aperturre Science Portal Device could create portals on. He got the idea of using gels, such as speed and repulsion gels, as test items. Although, the moon gel made him deathly ill, so he left Caroline in charge of the facility.
