[The facility wishes to remind you that the Aperture Science Companion Cube, cannot speak.] ~GLaDOS

The companion cube is no different than any other cube, but it is used as a cooperation partner in the Aperture Science Cooperation test. The companion cube is slightly feared by GLaDOS, for the insane Doug Rattmann thought it could speak. It gave him wise ideas on how to escape the massacre that GLaDOS caused earlier in the facility,and he followed those ideas, and escaped. The companion cube is Rattmann's true love, for helping him escape the facility. Unfortunately, one day, as Rattmann tried to incubate Chell, to prevent GLaDOS's rebirth, he could no longer hear the companion cube. He tried to run past a row of turrets, but he failed. After being shot in the leg, the cube could then speak, and it did, until the time came when it had no one to speak to.
