I'm no longer maintaining this mod and likely won't even respond to comments here. This game option (and many more) is maintained in my flagship mod: DB's Civ VI Gold. Unsubscribe to this and subscribe to that.




DESCRIPTION
Missionaries, Apostles, Inquisitors and Gurus only have 2 base movement. Normally they have 4, which makes them better scouts than Scouts.

The main reason for two movement is to make theological battles more normal. With 4 default movement (and especially with the +2 bonus from Exodus of the Evangelicals), theological battle was a lot of "now you see him", "now you don't", "I don't even know which direction to chase him", "Oh, now he's spreading way over here!"

You can still get a bonus 2 movement from Exodus, and there's a belief that allows you to disregard terrain movement penalties... so religious units are quick if you want them to be. And they're still dang good, nearly unstoppable, border-crossing scouts. They just aren't faster than an actual scout. Which is logical. They're normal speed. They don't have a horse, an engine, or wings... why would they move faster than the units that do?
