Description
"The Quicksand Multirole Hovercraft, nicknamed The Beast, was an armed, heavily armored single-seater. It used to be popular back when people still knew how to make them..."

from the science fiction novel titled "HAIL CLANG!" inspired by Space Engineers

--------------------------

Quicksand is an atmospheric, heavily armored hovercraft with fixed weapon systems. The pilot is protected from direct hits and even ramming.

Weapons:
5 machineguns
4 rocket tubes
1 reloadable rocket launcher
2 machinegun turrets

Quicksand pilot manual
No special instructions. Use the shielded camera to target and unleash awesome firepower. If something gets in your way – ram it! The chassis can handle it.

From the engineering aspect, this blueprint has an innovative rubber "skirt" similar to real life hovercrafts. I've spent days nudging that thing to work, and I hope you like the result. It was made using the steering overdrive on wheels.

This is a fully functional, tested blueprint. I hope some of the engineering solutions will inspire your future builds. Cheers!

I had some trouble working out the conveyor arrangement. The off-center forwardmost fixed gatling turret draws from the cockpit, which isn't connected to the rest of the conveyor network. The pairs of gatlings on either side, under the metal sphere, weren't connected to the conveyor network; I found that I needed to replace an armor block covering a rear-facing port on the two connectors with conveyor links to connect them and complete the circuit.

WOW. I gotta say, this thing is hands down the best "rover" geared towards combat i have so far found on the workshop. It impresses and inspires me. As does the rest of your work!

Bravo sir! I will be following you.

@epflederer alright then! i'm excited to build it for my survival playthrough, thanks!

If you mean the wheels themselves, it is because they are separate grids. In the case of wheel suspensions, when you build the base, a wheel will automatically appear if there is room. There is also an action in the terminal to add a wheel.

@epflederer there is a little problem with that, the wheels dont show up, is that normal or...?

Yes it can. Just put it through a projector and weld away

this is the most awesome vehicle i have ever driven in this game. but... can this possibly be made in survival?

@epflederer - Thank you, I'm glad you like it. Leave a review when you are done if you feel like it. Hail Clang!

I saw this page before I started reading the book. When they mentioned the quicksand I knew things were about to get real. I gotta say, things got really, let's say interesting. I'm not finished with the book but already it is one of my favorites.

@Torbjörn Uristsson - Thank you for your comment. I am glad you tested it out.
