If there were a way for some people to value the dollar bills more than others that could be useful. Perhaps tribals don't care much about these bills because they rarely trade with outlanders, for example.
i went on a caravan trip and took some high value items, but when i sold them for silver, my group counldnt move because the silver was too heavy :) so i had to end up trading more items for items, but if each trader or faction has a random, limited amount of paper money, it could be a cool way to trade for lighter material (which speed up your caravan trip a bit) but it wouldnt be worth 100% the same as silver, since you can do so much more with silver.
maybe 90% of silver could work but i dont kknow the maths yet :)
