Nakajima Ki-8

Developed as the Nakajima DF, the Ki-8 was proposed to the IJA by the Nakajima Aircraft Company. It featured a modern design and a second seat for a rear gunner. A combination of unpopularity with pilots, manufacturing defects, disappointing performance and the lack of interest in a two-seat fighter led to the IJA rejecting the plane in favor of continuing using the Nakajima Type 91.
