It's best to have every attachment and accessory for the ghast fight, and sub-traits 3 dedution will helps a lot.
With sub-traits 3 dedution and all the equipment set accordingly, hunter will have +50% resistance and +50%(maybe +30%, not sure)damage against the ghast, the traps also work better.
And the heavy armour have it's advantage, if the hunter have +50% resistance, they can take the attack with their face while shooting the ghast to pieces, you can't fire when you dodge! The banshee's sonic attack deals even less damage than spider at that time, and I eliminate her with 2.5 clips of SMG, she don't even have chance to release the little ghost
Also, seem like the shadow's ability, the blood raining to the ceiling thing, will interupt the trap in range, so if one of your trap being in the range, get away and find another one
If you have a shotgun, you want to get something that can a strong option against either something at range, or to hit longer ranges. The Magnum at higher levels can make very very short work of a shadowbeast, or chew through a thornwhip or flailing picture.
An option as well that can make the room clears nicer is to have the Magical Talisman forged for when things get rough. (Post ghast cleanup.) You take a bad fight, or the like, head to the van, change out into that, wait back to full.
Of course, it still will be a difficult battle, as it should be.
