Since once strong Jin Dynasty collapsed in civil war and barbarian invasions, Xiongnu, Jie, Qiang, Di, Xianbei and other peoples had established series of kingdoms in North China. After a century of chaos and crucial warfare, many kingdoms and dynasties vanished like dust in the wind. In early 5th century, two empires from North and South are searching for the dominance of China. A new age has begun, known by future historians as Northern and Southern Dynasties.
