Non-Windows HEV Boot

Description
I disliked the fact that the HEV boot sequence suggests that its OS is based on Windows. This mod changes this to a Unix-like boot sequence, based on real logs.

NOTE: The installation method is similar to other VPK mods, if you are not familiar with it please read a guide for it.

Remember, there's a built-in spray in HL1 saying that Linux is better, and Valve's own OS is based on Linux, so this is probably what Valve would've done if they had a similar startup sequence thing.

cool addon. just one question, why do you care that the og hev boot sequence is based on windows?
CaptainofPie 22 Jul, 2023 @ 9:54pm
in all honesty, the HEV probably uses a heavily modified version of Windows NT 4.0 or 5.0

Dumb question, but what if I want to change the name listed during bootup? I want to change it from Freeman, Gordon, to something else.
I tried modifying the existing file in the VPK but all that does is ruin the alignment but keep the old text.

I found it annoying to! Why is there a C: before the root path and are the slashes all backwards?

IDC if it looks good in game, IDC if the boot sequence make sense with an HEV suit, IDevenC if it works in game, It's open source, thus it is good. Here, have my Points.
