Thanks Mattchew!

No Elements is probably my least favorite genre of Portal 2 puzzle, so I want to say this is some excellent stuff, and I felt very engaged with it! Figuring out where to start took me a fair bit!

Besides the hilarious move-set, the reasoning for the main move is very much subtle. Having it so you gain an extra voxel in height. I enjoyed the end sequence too, going deeper into the starting pit felt super satisfying.

My only minor complaint is that I wish some sight-lines were tweaked a little—some less visible, some more. Again, however, it's minor. Grand stuff, Libby!

That's fair, though this blindrun was actually 6 months ago and I've gotten even better since then. Back then it felt like a 6.5/10 and so I kept the rating but I think I'd rate it differently now (I also don't think it would take me as long). My difficulty ratings have been revised significantly since playing, for instance, Oblivious Owl's maps aswell. Their maps are of a bit higher caliber difficulty-wise than anyone else I've encountered on average. Though I've played some pretty damn hard maps in the past I feel like their workshop taught me what truly difficult maps are :P

I'll certainly check out your maps in the future though and am excited to, given you say this is one of your easiest ones!

Thanks zigzagtenniscoe for playing and commenting! Good job solving it. Difficulty ratings are challenging, although I think that the general tendency in the workshop is for authors to greatly overestimate the difficulty of their maps rather than underestimate it. This is one of my easiest maps. If anything, 4/10 is overrating the difficulty. IMO, 1/2-hour solve time for an experienced player equates well to a 4/10 rating. You might check out some of my more challenging 7-8/10 maps to see what I equate the higher difficulty ratings with. Rating this at 6.5/10 would leave no reasonable rating for the large number of considerably more difficult maps that I have played/created. Hopefully you find that a reasonable explanation for the way I rate the difficulty. Again, thanks for playing and commenting!

Blindrun
Yet another not-so-easy No Elements chamber. It was fun figuring out this one. Took me long enough to realize that portalling where the red light bars were and using that momentum on the outside region on the end platform to transfer it to the “second” higher-area platform was key. At least I was on the right track with certain other maneuvers I was doing.

While I’m not too big a fan of haphazard blocky aesthetics, this is a really nice looking chamber lighting-wise. I love how most of the chamber glows in a soft, clean beigish light but certain sections are marked with a strong red. I also can’t say I’ve seen a chamber with an entire ceiling full of indented light squares like that - it’s trippy but I like it.

I’d definitely rate this a little higher than 4/10 on difficulty, but it’s notoriously easy to underestimate the difficulty of one’s own chamber when you know the solution as intimately as you do.

Difficulty: 6.5/10 (there’s maps that have taken me longer that I’ve rated lower but I typically take the apparent complexity of the map into account while scoring this, and this chamber doesn’t look overly difficult but still took me half an hour)
Enjoyed: 8/10

It's not that hard. It's not that easy. It's medium.
