Well, it is what it is. But FWIW, I noticed these tiles turning white when used as the floor of an indoor, roofed skating rink with no holes in the walls. Despite being indoors, with the sunlight filtered through the solid roof above, they still turned white as long as the sun was above the horizon. Once it got dark outside, they turned brown. This happened with or without light sources inside the building.

@Bullethead With this particular floor, i just pulled the model's folder to check, it's a little more visible than with other reflective surfaces, that's true, This is because it follows MT workflow, as it's supposed to mimic vinyl more than wood, and this way the surface gets a particularly matte appearance, while still being reflective. As this is mostly used in interior situations, there's usually no direct sunlight so i saw this as a reasonable trade-off to attain that quality in other details. If i changed the workflow this would not eliminate the reflection whiteout fully, only remedy it slightly, but the look of the floor panels would be altered significantly. I could look into making new floor pieces to accomodate exterior light reflections better, i currently don't plan on making new assets for the game, though.

Best try to use these floors in shaded situations, that will mostly alleviate the whiteout.

cheers, Arti :)

Maybe, but there are plenty of pieces that do no turn white in the same conditions this does.

@Bullethead Thanks for the feedback. The white appears on every surface in PlanCo, given a certain view angle towards the sun. It has to do with how Frontier's game engine interprets reflections. As much as i would like to, nothing I or anyone else can do about it, sorry.

Color washes out in daylight, making it look white regardless of color chosen
