Description
The Valkyrie-"S" is an adaption of the MRCV "Valkyrie" Mk II, optimized for space-operation. Any atmospheric thusters have been removed in order to improve the ships behavior in space. However, this is still supposed to be a personal utility-craft, not intended to be used as a regular fighter.

This ship is full vanilla and easy to build in survival, featuring no mods or subgrids.


Author's note
The "Space-Valkyrie" was a request from a friend of mine, who was successfully hunting down npc-pirates in his Valkyrie Mk II, but asked for a more agile version to be used in space only.

To archive this, the Valkyrie was stripped from any atmospheric thrusters and received additional ion- and hydrogen-based propulsion instead. This came with some significant weight reduction which again allowed me to install some heavy armor plating in order to enhance the ships durability.

Please be aware that this ship is still in prototype-state and will be updated as soon as valiable testresults are provided.


Description
The MCRV "S-Type" is a specialized sub-variant of the Multi Role Combat Vessel "Valkyrie" Mk II (https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1546470091), which has been optimized for non-atmospheric environments. Even though the S-Type is still capable to operate within planet atmospheres up to 1G, it is not recommended to keep it flying under these conditions due to its limited fuel capacities.

In order to serve as an armed short-range patrol vessel, the Valkyrie S-Type proves to be much more agile under Zero-G conditions than her general-purpose configuration. The removal of any atmospheric thrusteres and their energy-source also resulted in a significant cut-down in weight, which allowed the installation of some heavy armor plating to further enhance protection of key-components. Furthermore the auxillary Rocket-Launchers have been moved deeper into the cockpit-hull to make them less vulnerable in a firefight.

Despite these changes, the Valkyrie S-Type is still quite limited in its defenses and relies on her superior firepower to quickly overcome enemy threats. Also the Valkyrie still remains a utility vessel, providing its pilot with Oxygen and decent cargo-space.

troubleshooting
  • In some cases, the ACC-script fires the down-facing thusters instead of the rear-ones. Run the argument on Toolbar 2, Slot 4 to resolve the issue

I actually started working on multiple large grid ship already and hope to upload the first within this month. However, since Im still quite new to shipbuilding, a carrier is a project that I haven't touched yet. But there will be one eventually.
