U.S.S. Defiant

This is my version of the U.S.S. Defiant of Star Trek DS9 fame. I have spent many hours building and testing this design for both creative and survival modes. The highlight of this ship is it's functionality and performance.

This ship features;
~Three Warp Engines, two for forward travel, and one for slowing down. Warp Engines are add-on thrusters.
~Plane Parts add-on. This block set allows for a smooth skin for the entire ship, and the possibility of aerodynamics.
~Five Large Hydrogen Thrusters for taking off and landing on planets and moons. Also aids in stabilizing ship.
~Ion engines for minimum thrust and maneuverability, works well when docking with the Deep Space Station.
~Camera on nose of ship aiding in space staion docking procedures.
~Compact Oxygen and Hydrogen Tank add-on allowing a very compact design and eliminating huge tanks.
~Star Trek Helm and Tactical Station add-on allowing a trek feeling to the bridge.
~Defiant Warp Core add-on allowing for extra power to be generated - no more power cut outs and issues.
~Eight Rocket Launchers fully hooked up to a conveyor network and automatically replenishes missle supply.
~Strobe lights, Nav lights, interior lights and bridge lights all grouped to work with buttons on bridge.
~Med Bay is on board so spawning aboard ship is possible.
~Letters Mod add-on installed so ship has readable nameplate and designation numbers.
~Bunk Bed add-on which gives a bed that can be entered (lower bunk only). Two bunks are on the ship.
~Two Cryo-Chambers accessable on the second level via stairs. Also is access to small cargo containers.
~Functional Clock add-on which tells the time in a digital display, in both local time and UTC (Universal Time). One clock is on the bridge, and the other at engineering control.

Getting everything to work together and perform to expectation usually results in a ship not looking like it does on the TV show. I have tried to create the best balance of looks, functionality, and usefulness to create a ship to resemble the actual DS9 ship with functionality to match.

On top of that, this is the first blueprint I have published that soley relies on add-ons. Most of my designs are vanilla for good reason. But as of December 2018, each and every one of these add-ons work with the ship and have been throughly tested.

The ship add-ons are listed on the page, but important add-ons are mentioned here, ones like;
~The entire hull of the ship is made out of the "Plane Parts" block set, which is used to create a very smooth skinned hull for the entire ship. Without this, the ship has no structure.
~The warp drive engines, what a fantastic non damaging thruster with incredible thrust! Coupled with the unlimited speed add-on, the ship can achieve incredible speeds!
~The compact Oxygen and Hydrogen tanks allow me to build a compact ship as possible while still having hydrogen thrusters to support the craft in an atmosphere. A smaller compact ship is a lighter ship.
~There are two bunk beds from that add-on on this ship. This allows for more crew space during travel and adds an crew related environment. You can lay in it (lower bunk only) and watch the stars go by out the window if you so wish.
~There are letter blocks used on the outside hull so you can read the name and number identifier of the ship.
~The warp drive uses an incredible amount of power so the engine core is actually an addon that is a replica of the actual Defiant warp core. Except I had to have it lay horizontal instead of upright.

The nose (bow) of the Defiant actually is designed to fit the Deep Space Station, so you can board on and off through the nose into one of the main airlocks on the outer ring of the station. A nose camera is even included to help guide the ship to a docking port.

Due to the extremely high thrust warp engines, you will have to use the main bridge's helm controls, which have pre-set up buttons to turn on and off the warp engines, ion engines and hydrogen thrusters, among other functions already set up to avoid warping driving into the station while docking. (Yes I have done that and was amazed at the carnage). This also includes a safety function on/off for the rocket launchers (a whole EIGHT of them are onboard!).

Speaking of the thrust to weight ratio of this thing, this is thee fastest ship I have built to date! Try it and find out. See how fast you can get from Earth to the Alien planet and back again! 100,000 meters per second is possible to achieve!

The unlimited speed mod add-on is amazing add-on, and makes for MUCH more realistic and fun gameplay. Try it out with any add-on ship or your own!

Don't forget to turn on/off Warp Engines when needed and always accellerate, travel, and decellerate in a straight line when going super fast and avoid turns. That will avoid decellerating side drifts.
