I think Vanessa's filter is activated based on Vanessa's distance relative to the player.
If it's an event listener that's activating Vanessa's filter, disabling the event listener when the badge is put on and enabling the event listener when the badge is taken off would prevent Vanessa's filters from having any way of activating while the badge is worn.
If it's an if statement, then make it so Vanessa's filters being activated equals false while the badge being worn equals true. If badge being worn equals true, Vanessa's filters showing equals false.
Wish I could be of more help, but I don't know much other than how it could work.
