Make sure you start DayZ in Steam, not via desktop shortcut, so you can choose DayZ Launcher. You have to start it via the launcher and enable both mods in the Mods tab (it's the same like in ArmA 3) and click play. With this you ensure the mods are loaded and you can connect to the server.
