Description
Darren Young broke into WWE as part of The Nexus after competing on the first season of NXT. After The Nexus broke up, Young was unable to gain much momentum as was brough back to NXT for NXT Redemption.

After feuding with Titus O'Neil on NXT Redemption, Young and O'Neil joined forces and formed The Prime Time Players, initially with their manager Abraham Washington (AW). The Prime Time Players may not have made millions of dollars, but they did capture the WWE Tag Team Championship in 2015. While not competing alongside O'Neil, the two have often feuded in singles competition.

Towards the end of his WWE run, Young was managed by Bob Backlund in an effort to "Make Darren Young Great Again." Young was able to gain an Intercontinental Title shot with Backlund in his corner, but was unable to win the belt.

Young is also noteworthy as the first openly gay member of an active roster for a major wrestling promotion.
