Nameless faction colors (Black)

Description
This mod will assign a color scheme to the palyer faction so that any dyable gear that you equip will be colored automatically.

CUSTOM COLORS:
step by step instructions to change the color to what you want:

subscribe to the mod
go to \Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\233860\1595802459
the folder should contain the file Nameless_faction_color.mod

copy it to the games mods folder and make a new folder called Nameless_faction_color
so you get \Steam\steamapps\common\Kenshi\mods\Nameless_faction_color
and move the 2 files into it

now launch the FCS mod editor via
\Steam\steamapps\common\Kenshi\forgotten construction set.exe

in the program window select the 'Nameless_faction_color' mod from the list
so it says *ACTIVE* next to it and click done
then click the Changes button in the top header

this will bring up a list of all the changes made to the game data by the .mod file
there are only 2 entries. 1 is a color scheme, and the other is adding that color scheme to the player faction
double click 'nameless color' to edit it, it has 2 properties which are color1 and 2 and consist of RGB values
you can type them in manually if you know how to define a specific color, but if you select one a little box
will appear on the right hand side of your selection.
clicking that will bring up a color picker.

after making changes to the color save and simply start the game.
make sure the mod is activated in the game launcher
and voilá, your faction now uses the colors you picked.
if you want to change the color keep in mind you have to restart the game so the data from the .mod file is reloaded
just to be clear, restart the program, you don't have to reimport the game.
however, items that have previously been colored will keep the old colors. you will have to get new items that
haven't had a color assigned to them yet for the new faction colors to show up.
it will automatically color all colorable items that are quipped by any of your faction members on loading a save.
if you want them all to be the same then this is an easy set once and forget operation.
if you want to use a bunch of different custom colors across your characters then
the 'Armour Colouration Shop' mod is a better way of doing it.

you COULD use my method and just keep
changing the colors and restarting the game for full control.
quick tip, if you want to test multiple different colors, don't save the game until you have found the color you are happy with
make a hard save, change color, load save, check, if not to your liking exit, change again and then make sure to load your hard save
and not a more recent autosave.

After uninstalling the game, two years have passed, and here I installed Kenshi again. But I ran into a problem (I was cleaning mods and I only had this one to replace the faction color). And I ran into a problem, even when playing without mods, every thing turns black for me, and through the FCS I see in the "COLORSID" tab that every thing I took with my character was colored in 1254-gamedata.base (In the default game database, it stands as a player color) - but his indicators are all at zero, that is, a completely black color that breaks more than one thing. Are there any tips for a solution (return to the default state?)

it might be possible, but i haven't touched the game in months.. i might not even have it installed right now so i can't really tell you.

Is it possible to do this in a way that it only affects one character instead of the whole faction? I only want my main character to have a custom color scheme.

That's a shame, but still it's manageable. I tried the armour colouration shop mod and everything seemed alright at first, until slavers took away the colour changers. And the Holy Nation killed the hiver colour changes, and so on.... Still a very useful mod and ill still be using it. Thanks for the reply!

afaik the answer is simply no.
i know its a really cumbersome way of dealing with this but its the most efficient way i found to set custom colors. the only other approach that ive seen out there was a mod that placed coloring shops in the world.. which essentially housed slaves belonging to various factions. you'd hand them your colorable gear that wasnt colored yet and they'd equip it, thus setting the color for that specidic item. at some point that mod stopped working and i have no idea if it ever got updated.
as far as this approach goes, the player faction is a global setting for the game and without proper scripting support we have to jump through hoops to get what we want.

This mod is really helpful, love it for making my faction stand out. I was wondering though if its possible to have different player factions with different colours rather than the one colour applying to all player factions. E.g, Having one save with a faction that uses the colour red, but a different save where they use the colour green? If this isnt possible then its fine, its only because I find myself switching between saves regulary.
