Opis
This mod extend the ability to build the improvement : Chateau, to every civilization.

Accordingly, The Foreign Legion Unique Unit have been returned to the French civilization.

Features:
  • Make the 'Chateau' improvement available to workers from any civilization

  • Give back the Foreign Legion UU to France.

  • Adjust the 'Volunteer Army' Freedom Tenets so that it will provide Foreign Legion only if you are French, other civilizations gets the normal Great War Infantry.

  • This change is reflected in Civilopedia (see screenshot).

Notes:
    This game has always mixed civilization culture, history and flavors in a fictional way. You can play a viking whose capital is in the African desert and who spawn a great merchant named Steve Job. Why not do it with terrain improvement too?
    The majority of the civ have a unique unit and a unique building anyway, I think that making terrain improvement a generic content offer more choice of customization for your cities and produce enjoyable landscape instead of boring cities full of farm or mines. Thats the point of all these 'Improvements Extensions' mods.

Compatibility:
  • Requires Brave New World Expansion

@BlouBlou do your utility/religion/era mod packs work with Vox Populi or Community patch? :steamhappy:

@BlouBlou It does work perfectly in single player. I love your utility mods.
I think we're contented with what we can make work in multi for now but if I manage to stumble across a solution later I will definitely share it.

@BoneBender

Hi bone, unfortunatly, i don't have many experience in playing multiplayer modded game. You probably know more than i!
i couldnt think of any reason why a mod would work partially instead of not working at all. Maybe its a compatibility issue with a 3rd party mod?
Does your mod pack work fine in Singleplayer?

@BlouBlou If you have time for an outlandish question: I enjoy your mods and have even made multiplayer mod packages for play with friends by manipulating the civ5pkg file. All of your mods work beautifully with the exception of the Worker-built terrain extensions like this(chateau, kasbah, polder, etc). Workers cannot build these improvements but the other changes to civs still occur(French foreign legion, Incan stone temple, etc).
Other terrain mods of yours such as the pontoon bridge and motte fort work as intended in multiplayer.
Off the top of your head, can you think of a reason this might be?

@Havokj: Slight modification of your idea. French can build them as normal, everyone else can build them on wine only

because Americans are jealous of French

A quick 'balence' suggestion, as I personally feel that they are too easy to 'spam'. Make them a unique version of the plantation, but for wine only, making them similar to the unique winery improvements from Civ4.
The increased rareity could be off-set by increasing their yeild even further (along with the change already enacted by your mod, making them available to all Civs).
Just an idea.

BlouBlou.

Thank you for your numerous contributions to the civ 5 mod world. I was wondering if you had the mod files posted anywhere as I am a Mac user and the subscription system doesn't work for me. With the files themselves I might be able to install the mods and was hoping to try.

@Someone

The goal of these extension mod is to unlock those unique improvements for everyone. Youre seeing it the wrong way. If your playing France and dont like the feature, just dont enables the mod, if youre not playing France then use it so you can use the improvements, and Ai will use it too.

I cant change a mod everytime a single user voice his personal taste , especially when i dont agree with him =) Also the foreign legion is affected by Volunteer army, if you pick this tenets as France with the mod youll get an army of offensive UU ready to conquer cities with a 20% bonus.

In any case thank you for your comments, and have a good day!
