I have explored every possibility that can cause such an issue and it is obvious what the problem is. The simplest way to fix it is by putting the vehicle tuning sliders (suspension, gearbox, brake, differential) in the middle and then just disable it. If this method does not work for you then nothing will.

Maybe the mistake is elsewhere then. I have wasted with this situation now many hours and the settings after mod are wrong. I have to use now the loaner version of Lawn mover..

I don't know how to say this but, all you have to do is enable the mod, put all the tuning sliders in the middle and disable it. Worked for me, and I am sure it will work for you.

You are right about gears. Early there were four. Now only three. And with mod there are six. ;-)
I have tryed all options. Seems I cannot fix them. Lucky I have the loaner (L) version and it works correctly.

I'm unsure what made you confused, but I have explicitly stated in my former comment that you should set all of the tuning options to the middle ones, or it might not work properly after disabling the mod.

Listen to this then. I did have a hunch of what the problem was, the main culprit being the gearbox. Turns out I was right though, because the mod uses outdated gearbox files that have been adjusted to work as real options, which in contrary is necessary since the stock gearbox files are quite broken. In detail, the old lawnmower used a shorter 4-speed gearbox, all of which have been adjusted by the mod to work as they should. In the game's default files however, the lawnmover is using a longer 3-speed gearbox. The issue here is that only the "standard" or middle option has been properly adjusted to be longer, whereas the other options still use the old short 4-speed gearbox's stats which, if used on a default game, makes the lawnmower lose top speed.

To be fair you wouldn't want to edit your save files. Aside of that, I need more data to get it clear, and to find out what the problem really is.

I play with this a little. I disabled Steam Cloud saving and taking off the cars5.ccrs file on path :\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\xxxxxxx\228380\local\wreckfest and ran some version of Free Market mod. My stock lawn mover was OK. Back in place the cars5.ccrs and, eh, with problems. Some good hexaeditor users may find the right place where to hexedit. I an not so wise.

I have yet to research about that.

Mod seems to work well. ;-) But changing back to stock do not on my case.
Stock Law mover top speed is 127 km/h.
After mod (disabling it) top speed is only 106 km/h.

Stock tunings are:
Acceleration: 1.7 (mod 1.7)
Top speed: 2.4 (mod 1.4)
Cornering: 1.0 (mod 8.4)

Seems why after using mod the top speed is so poor is the value Top speed: 2.4 vs. 1.4.
