Description
The Atlas was derived from the first operational ICBM from the US, it flew 24 times from 1957 to 1959. it featured a very unusual staging system. 2 booster engines were attached on a ring surrounding the sustainer engine and were dropped in flight. it also featured balloon tanks, this means that the structure collapses without internal pressure.
