While most strip mines are huge open spaces, sometimes tight tunnels and passages are the only way to reach a rich ore vein. This is where the SpringSaw comes in. It's small composure, folding legs and general speed makes it perfect for digging out small places. It's also incredibly cheap for a mining vehicle,meaning they can be produced much faster and so are seen in almost every modern strip mine.
