Ron Simmons

Ron Simmons is a WWE Hall of Famer who is a former WCW World Heavyweight Champion, in addition to a decorated tag team wrestler.

Simmons began wrestling in the late 80's after a brief football career, first signing with Jim Crockett Promotions. Simmons won the World Heavyweight Championship from Vader at SuperBrawl II. He transitioned into a midcard role towards the end of his WCW tenure, and after a brief stay in ECW, made his way to the WWF.

In the WWF, Simmons changed his name to Faarooq Asaad and wrestled under a short-lived gladiator gimmick before becoming the leader of the Nation of Domination, a role which he'd keep for almost two years.

After being booted out of NOD by The Rock, Faarooq began teaming up with Bradshaw as The Acolytes and joined The Ministry of Darkness. The team would stay together longer than The Ministry, and The Acolyte Protection Agency (APA) stayed together until Simmons' retirement from pro wrestling.
