HomeLoader

Description
This SteamVR home environment includes additional game panels and a modified version of Rectus Environment Menu (Pause Panel) that can be used to launch games. It uses the Library from the HomeLoader Desktop app. Therefore the HomeLoader Desktop app is needed to enable the panels and to use the environment Menu. The Environment Menu can also be used with any other environment, the downloaded workshop environment can be prepared using the Desktop App.

The HomeLoader environment needs the latest version of the Desktop Application called HomeLoader. It can be found on GitHub. https://github.com/CogentHub/HomeLoader/releases
The HomeLoader Desktop Application updates the game panels, dvd cases and the other content of the environment.

Update 2019-09-30, HomeLoader 0.80:
- Added new Environment Settings (includes Locomotion options, Library/Category Panels, Tools, ...)
- Added possibility to use all SteamVR Home Environments with HomeLoader
- Removed all DVD case related things (they don't work anymore due to an change in the SteamVR Workshop Source2)
- Removed Viveport, Oculus and Non Steam Game Panels, due to an change in the SteamVR Workshop Source2 they don't work anymore
- DVD Cases no longer work .

Added new "How to prepare a SteamVR Home Workshop Environment for use with the HomeLoader Desktop App" guide
https://github.com/CogentHub/HomeLoader/blob/master/HomeLoader_Prepare_new_SteamVRHome_Environment_Guide.pdf

Notes:
I am using a modified version of the Scripted Item Test Range made by Rectus The Scripted Item Test Range is also needed.

Videos are back online.
Everything was working fine back then. If it isn't working anymore than I will not fix it or do any new updates to it. Hope these videos help.

If you want to delete the created environments manually, they can be found in the following folder:
...\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR\tools\steamvr_environments\content\steamtours_addons\

Also, I can't seem to do it again. No other environments are being created.

I have. . . no idea what I am doing wrong. I selected an environment to load, set it all up, it's there in my home environment list (no image, correct environment name) . . . but when I load it. . . it's just the default homeloader environment. I feel like I need to delete the file and restart. . . but idk where the file even is!

Hi, I'm not sure if you're still active, but when I try to move I either go backward or jerk around before falling through the floor. Is there anything I'm messing up?

If however you're talking about the drop down list from within HomeLoader itself, that's another process entirely. Make sure you have subscribed not only to this Workshop project, but also the Scripted Item Test Range. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=929520573

Once you've subscribed to both, go to the HomeLoader environment from within VRHome at least once. After that, you should be able to successfully set up the HomeLoader app outside of Steam. The HomeLoader environment also contains a virtual tutorial if you need additional help.

@Not gohstly,

I've had mixed results when preparing the environment while still in VRHome. If it's not showing up, try transitioning to a new environment first, or exiting VRHome and coming back. When you do, it will then show up under a new name with no icon.

Check the names carefully, because even if you have your environments sorted alphabetically, HomeLoader will often give it a default name that is different from the original.

@Michael Thanks for your Feedback. Good to hear that it worked. Regarding the guides section, feel free to post it where you want.

Well I'll be damned! I actually got it working! I'm currently zipping around my Summer Pavilion with a grappling hook and walking "normally" instead of teleporting!

Thank you so much for putting this out there. It seriously needs more exposure. You should consider publishing a guide here on Steam for it in the actual Guides section. Or, with your permission, I'd be happy to post it myself.

Hey there. I was very excited to find that analog movement in SteamVR Home environments was indeed possible. Thank you for making this!

That being said, I'm not the most tech-savvy person, and I'm very confused by all these separate links and programs. What would I need to JUST have the ability to walk with an analog stick by default with no extra options, menus, or external programs?

Is subscribing to this Workshop item enough to at least "walk", or do I still need to go outside of Steam to set all this up?
