Based off an old mod that was broken. Credit goes to the OP: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=386879

Adds the Canadian Nation to the game with founding Prime Minister Sir John A. Macdonald as the leader. His trait is "From Sea to Sea". This gives you a +1 culture bonus in every city and 50% less unhappiness from number of cities. The unique units include the Mountie, a replacement for cavalry, and the Hudson's Bay Company Outpost, a replacement for the market.

"No offence but Canada is not really known for its culture."

Are you saying Canada has no culture? Whetehr something is 'known' for its culture and whether it has culture are two different things.

2nd largest nation on Earth, if people hope to duplicate that in Civ5, then we're going to need to be able to make lots of cities. To be fair though, us Canadians do seem to be generally quite happy, if we weren't, why would the majority of us be so friendly? Just for kicks, I'm going to try naming off what Canadian cities that come to mind, just at the top of my head:

St. John's, Gander, Stephenville, Halifax, Moncton, Quebec City, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Thunder Bay, Sault Ste. Marie, Regina, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Calgary, Fort McMurray, Prince George, Vancouver, and sadly I don't know of any cities in the Territories. There are some, of course, but I'm just no longer familiar with what I learned in school. I think I recall the capital of the Yukon being Yellowhead or something like that. These aren't all cities with millions of people, but I think they qualify as cities all the same.

The +1 culture makes sense, given Canada's vast expanse of land, but the limited unhappiness from number of cities seems to run counter to the fact that Canada just does not have very many cities.

Love this mod. It feels fairly accurate as far as bonuses go and units as well. Perhaps an idea to expand on the mod is to add in a luxury resource (don't laugh), maple syrup. Where Canada would get a special bonus with and get a special building that further increases or expands that bonus. It's just a thought.:dwayneelf:

Why does each city add +1 culture? No offence but Canada is not really known for its culture. Large geographic area? Yes. Natural (but unprocessed) resources? Yes. ... but culture? Not really. Perhaps something like "Peace, Order and Good Government" where there is +1 happiness per city when not at war. Or +1 lumber, coal, ... Thank you.

nice mod, but the only problem i see is that the mountie does not have any unique ablilities, just new picture and units skin

@Sum Sine Regno I'll look into changing it. I never noticed that changes to the market in BNW. My bad.
