Description
Nigel McGuinness retired from in-ring competition in 2011 to transition into non-wrestling roles, but during his prime, McGuinness was one of the most technically sound and brutal competitors in the world.

McGuinness held the ROH World Championship for 545 days from Fall 2007 to Spring 2009, preceded by his nearly yearlong reign with the ROH Pure Championship.

McGuinness's matches with Bryan Danielson (Daniel Bryan) in ROH were among the best moments in company history.

McGuinness had signed an agreement with WWE in 2011, but after failing a medical exam, signed with TNA instead. In TNA, appearing as Desmond Wolfe, McGuinness made an immeidate impact in a feud with Kurt Angle, but never became a star.

After retiring, McGuinness returned to ROH as a commentator and authority figure, and he signed on with WWE as a commentator in 2016.
