Description
This mod adds a new challenge into the game which, as the title says, randomizes the entire floor, giving place to wacky layouts as the one in the thumbnail.
Your goal is to win the game, doesn't matter the ending you choose.
The hatch to the next floor is not so easy to find, as it remains to appear in its original room and not the new boss room position.
Be aware though, as normal rooms might get replaced with secret rooms forcing you to bomb your way through the map in order to find the hidden hatch.

This mod was made as a proof of concept, so don't expect it it to be fully funcitonal.


Shoutouts to piber20 for actually discovering the exact way of replacing room data via lua. I basically just figured out how to use that tech to store the rooms and randomize everything.

Does this challenge make it possible for skinny rooms be adjacent to other rooms now or is that still a set rule?

Really fun and interesting! Kinda easy to get OP with a guaranteed angel item from each floor if you explore enough to find the Ultra Secret Room (which is also sometimes required, obviously), but it's fun regardless! Did get the same bug as JaBoiVincent, however, where the trapdoor to the Womb doesn't spawn. Wish i knew *anything* about Isaac modding to help. :reheart:

That's not really how this mod works, it doesn't change generation at all, it just randomizes room placement. Right now we don't have the tools to change floor generation.

Though even if we did, this mod was just made as a proof of concept and nothing really more than that.

here's an idea for balance:


Curse of the Puzzle

Rooms are generated as normal, then shuffled, secret rooms still follow the same rules and will modify adjacent rooms to make sure of it
if a secret room needs to be crossed to go to the boss room/tresure room, a double bomb pickup, or the "i can see forever" pill will be a guaranteed pickup

That's interesting. I think it's would be fun as a sort of curse also. Probably will require a bit of balance for that, maybe like spawn 3-5 bombs in starting room/increased bomb drop rate as room clear reward and the ability to appear in chapters 2-3 only since the player probably won't have a bunch of bombs at 1 and starting from 4 chapter levels get too big for that. :yazdsmile:
