High Elf Forest Fire Camp

The land has been destroyed by some kind of cataclysm. A natural forest fire? A volcanic eruption? A fire wizard who lost control? Or maybe something more sinister? The high elves have come to investigate.
They set up camp at the edge of the forest fire and begin a ritual to summon a rain storm and start healing the land. But before they finish fortifying their position, they are assailed by an enemy army that snuck up on them using the cover of the heavy smoke.
The elves had well chosen the location of their camp however. Their foes will have to cross the natural choke points of the dry river bed below with close to no cover from the elven arrows.

Search the edges of the map thoroughly.
The culprit(s) signed his/their work.

Answer (mouse over to reveal):
The fire was set by the Khorne cultist who lives in the shack hidden behind the easter cliff.
You can tell his allegiance by the bloody altar he has in his backyard.
You can tell he did it by the flaming Mark of Khorne he left, just outside the playable area, in the south-eastern-most corner of the map.
For once, the skaven burrowed in the hill north of the fort are not blame.
