Stinger class Fleet Interceptor (VAN)

The Stinger class is the Navy's answer to the problem of intercepting enemy fighters without relying on a Marine Detatchment force to counter them. This ship is designed much likt the F-14 Tomcat fighter, to be a very high speed, high acceleration interceptor to meet enemy fighters, but unlike the F-14, this ship relies on three cannon to kill or disable fighters rapidly, instead of heavy missile armament. Thus, while it is adequate for the role of light interceptor, it suffers when used as a Light Ground Attacker.
