Hornet class Heavy Support Fighter (VAN)

The Hornet class Heavy Support Fighter was developed to give the Navan and Marine Detatchments a much more robust ship to use during the initial stages of a planetary invasion than the Douglas class fighters. Armed with four of both miniguns and rocket pods, this ship also includes a bottom mountedturret section, which can be configured for either an extra minigun or rocket unit (this version is a minigun turret). However, the ship quickly because too heavy, and these first versions were regulated for fleet use as heavy fighters against light ships.
