Drenghbar's Adjacencies

Beskrivning
This mod give extra adjacency bonus to the Theater Square, the Commercial Hub, and the Entertainment Complex. The Industrial Bonus was removed because it was officially released with the 2019 June patch.

The goal is to give these districts as much adjacency potential as the other ones, for the sake of balance, realism and strategy. It should also be easier to obtain the splendid district historical moments for those. The bonus are minor ones, and should not unbalance the game.

- Theater Square gains a standard adjacency bonus (+1 culture) for adjacent natural wonders.

- Commercial Hub gains a standard adjacency bonus (+1 gold) for each adjacent luxury ressource.

- Entertainment Complex gains a standard food adjacency bonus (+1 food) for each adjacent camp or pasture.

- Water Park gains a standard food adjacency bonus (+1 food) for each adjacent fishing boat.

These bonus are also applied to district replacements: Acropolis, Suguba, Street Carnival, Copacabana and Hippodrome.

The mod is localized in English and French, and should work with all DLCs.

For some reason the holy site and campus are giving each other a standard adjacency bonus. Gone when I disabled the mod.

Theater Square has already gained a standard adjacency bonus from adjacent natural wonders. So now it's unnecessary to add another one?

Finally someone who applies common sense and realism to adjacencies. You should see the mod that gives coastal adjacency to industrial zone. xD

Strange behavior with the workshop version of this mod. So I subbed for this mod since it looked neat and got around to playing Civ 6 after a day or two. I started a new game and noticed that there's really no difference with the districts. I check the save file and it says that this mod is not active on it, but the main menu still says that I'm subbed to it. I unsub, resub, instantly start playing again and everything is working like it should on a new game. But the next time I try to load that game, the game says I can't since this mod isn't installed. So I have to do that resubbing thing everytime I want to play with this mod. Just workshop being workshop I guess.

I googled another place to download this mod from and the manual install version works flawlessly. The mod indeed is good, so thumbs up for that.

@craigmon Thank you and my apologies for the late reply. Your comment got me thinking, and I actually tested a production adjacency bonus for encampments and strategic resources. (along with other adjacency bonuses for aqueduct and entertainment complex) I would not add it to industrial site, since most of the strategic resources are improved by mines and that would be redundant with the mine adjacency bonus the industrial site already have. Regarding the encampment bonus, it was not that great and quite anecdotical since the district already have placement constraints. I don't think I will continue with that idea.

Love this mod! I'm a big supporter of mods that just make sense! Speaking of which it always struck me as strange that strategic resources have no adjacency effect- I mean surely having all that iron next door would be a boon to an industrial site, those horses could be useful right! Can you do anything with that idea?

Updated with a Suguba security, it should now work without GS. Thanks for pointing it out.

This mod will fail to load without Gathering Storm installed because the Suguba is not present.

To make it load with the newest patch but no GS, open NewAdjacencies.sql in \Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\289070\1655275512 with a text editor, remove lines 69 to 76, and save the file.
