Description
This mod adds a scout corvette to planets which will look for nearby enemy grids. If it finds a nearby (3km) grid, it will potentially dispatch one or more drones to attack the nearest player. The scout must be able to see the player owned grid so it is advisable to hide most of your grids underground until you can deal with a substantial threat. If the target grid has either an active reactor or decoy then the radiation signature will bypass the need to make visual confirmation. This means you can't hide if you have active reactors.

The type of drone dispatched will depend on the threat your grid presents. Small battery-powered rovers will elicit a weak response if sighted while large-grid flying craft will elicit a strong response.

Thanks to Meridius_IX for the functionality in the NPC programming extender which made this mod possible. The AI for the drones was created by Sunoko. I simply copied it and made some config changes.

The drones are named after common flying denizens in Australia. The Ibis is a bit fun - try cutting it in half and see what happens.

Modular Encounters Spawner, NPC Programming Extender are required for this mod to work. You must also have drones enabled in the world settings.

For now, I have to hard code any NPC factions to ignore. This is to prevent difficult drones going after the player because an NPC grid with reactors etc has spawned. I've added a few but if your game has NPC factions I'm unaware of then any grids belonging to it might trigger a threat response. Just let me know if this happens and I can add the faction.

Unfortunately it stopped working, the script seems to work without errors, but it doesn't track any grid whatsoever.

Really? That sucks.I wasn't aware of how thin Pertam's atmosphere is. Thank you.

From what I understand, the atmosphere is too thin on Pertam. It's difficult or impossible for the Modular Encounters Spawner to find appropriate places to spawn atmo cargo ships

I have noticed a distinct lack of scout ships on Pertam. I've been playing for a few hours now and not one scout ship ever appeared. Haven't tried Triton but it's possible they don't spawn there either
