The list of builds that are compatible with this truck is now too long to fit in the description, so I've moved it to the discussion section on the original trucks workshop page. For the full list, please click HERE

But isn't a S.N.A.T.C.H just a little T.W.A.T?
Like you'd expect, the S.N.A.T.C.H is a Smaller Non-articulated All Terrain Cargo Hauler.
Yes though, it's true. S.N.A.T.C.H is the original T.W.A.T. Before there was T.W.A.T there was S.N.A.T.C.H!

In fairness it wouldn't be inaccurate to say that S.N.A.T.C.H's are in fact just T.W.A.T's... Trucks Without Articulated Trailers.

If you don't yet know what a T.W.A.T or a V.A.G is, click the link above to go to the full list of alternative versions / compatible builds.

So what do you do with a S.N.A.T.C.H when you've got one?
You play with it of course!
Paste it, put stuff inside it, examine it, fiddle with it, drive it around the block a few times, then find the next thing & leave it by the roadside!

Why do you need a S.N.A.T.C.H if you already have a T.W.A.T?
Well it's all a matter of personal taste... maybe you have limited resources & want to build a S.N.A.T.C.H, then upgrade it later to a T.W.A.T. Or maybe you want to weaponise your S.N.A.T.C.H & turn it into a force for social justice instrument of modern warfare (very easy to do!)
Or maybe you just want a nice varied selection of vehicles to line up & look at - because it's kind of fun to do that.

Nice S.N.A.T.C.H! How about it then?
S.N.A.T.C.H is a simple thing. We all crave it... some of us already have it. Here's what to expect when you finally get it...
  • 6 Wheel drive
  • 4 wheel steer
  • Crews 2. Right-hand drive of course
  • O2 / H2 Generator for use on non-atmospheric planets
  • Air "intakes" for use on atmospheric planets
  • Dorsal Collector
  • Rear facing Connector
  • Remote control + front & rear Cameras.
  • 6 Medium Cargo Containers (Payload of around 60 tons)
  • 2 Small Cargo "Lockers" for backup tools, etc
  • Primary power: 2x Small Reactor
  • Secondary power: 2x Battery
  • Emergency power: 1x Small Reactor (not connected to conveyor system, external access)
  • Lots of pretty lights
  • Additional work lights for cargo port
  • Gyroscope for extra stability (and cunning stunts in low gravity)
  • Artificial Mass for use in augmented low gravity (like a moon base for example)
  • Convenient button controls on the exterior with labels for dummies

  • Easily upgraded to Hydrogen Engines when the Survival update rolls out (watch for a Hydrogen version soon!)

Things to do with your S.N.A.T.C.H when you're bored
Increase the max speed on all the axles & treat it roughly on the moon.
If you catch some good jumps, the on-board gyroscope will allow you to do barrel rolls & somersaults in mid-air!
S.N.A.T.C.H's are also pretty handy on rough terrain in Earth gravity - you'll need to be a little gentler there of course - you wouldn't want your S.N.A.T.C.H destroyed after all!

Feedback
Comments / questions / suggestions / constructive criticism all very welcome.
I've even been known to do the odd request-build from time to time, so if you have an idea, drop me a line. If I like it I may build it.

@Ramaltus... I believe that's an old bug with the game. It still shows up from time to time. Sadly there's nothing I can do on my end to fix it. Try switching your world to Creative mode & pasting in a new copy of the truck, then switch back to Survival - or grind down the wheels & suspension blocks and rebuild them.

@test... sorry for not responding to your comment sooner - as Leo says, wheels count as separate grids. Not sure why you're seeing a warning for that but you can safely ignore it and carry on building. Nothing will be affected.

@Sheo... again, sorry late response. I've never had any trouble building the wheels on this one but yes, it's possible you're getting some kind of collision with the armour. I advise raise the truck higher from the ground when building (make sure the collision isn't with the ground or deck). If that doesn't help, try increasing suspension height to max, then welding the wheels. Short of that, remove a few armour blocks & see if that helps.

Truck will not move. As far as I can tell the brake is not engaged.

For those of you new to SE, wheels count as separate grids.

I also have the multiple grid warning in survival

Any idea why I can't attach wheels to the front ones? Maybe it colides with it's armor?
