Description
Magnum T.A. joined up with NWA territories Pacific North Wrestling and Championship Wrestling from Florida in the late 70's, then moved on to Mid-South Wrestling.

Following success in each of those territories, Magnum T.A. signed with Jim Crockett Promotions in 1984 and appeared to be on the way to becoming a major star. He captured the United States Heavyweight Championship in 1985 and feuded with the Four Horsemen over that title and the World Heavyweight Championship.

In 1986, Magnum T.A. lost control of his car on a slick, rainy road and severely injured his vertebrae. Although he survived the wreck, Magnum T.A. was paralyzed for several months and was forced to retire from the ring.
