The new one is out, go get here: Enhanced SSB4/SSBU Sonic
Noticing that I still get comments on this, so I just want to let you all know that I am not working on this port anymore because I am making another one that combines elements from his smash 4 and ultimate model to make a ""definitive"" smash sonic port. The new port will also have rigged eyebrows and a mouth, along with the same bodygroups present in the original model. It's taking a while because I'm only working on it in my spare time occasionally, and I am actively testing it to ideally release it without any bugs or other rigging issues.

Anyway, that's all for now. See you when the new port is released.

*What changed? Not much, but I'll tell you anyway.
-Got rid of the tiny gap between his head, and his "eyebrows". (It became extremely noticeable when I had lights behind him)
-Minor editing to his shoe vmt file
-Edited the shoe buckle texture in an attempt to make it more accurate to the game
-There was a double in his eyebrow bodygroups, I got rid of it
-Figured out how to properly make the metal and gold, so it looks better now. (Metal/gold cubemaps provided by Hyperchaotix)

***IMPORTANT***
-The updated versions start with "ssbu" rather than "sonicssbu"
-Installing this update will not remove the old models if you've had this downloaded prior to this update. To remove the old ones, try unsubscribing and resubscribing.
-If you have projects in the works with the older version, I would hold off on deleting the old ones, because copying animations over from the old models to the new ones will cause his hip/spine area to get messed up.
-WHEN INSTALLING, make sure you say select "Yes" or "Yes to All" for materials, or the new material changes won't be applied
-If for whatever reason, you still need the older version you can download it here:

Seeing as how the rate of smash ultimate models uploads has gone down, I figured that no one was going to do Sonic, so I learned how to do the whole sfm porting thing, and here is the result. This is my first full sfm port, and first model upload to the workshop, so please cut me some slack if something is wrong. However if you have issues with the model, don't be afraid to say something, I don't bite.

PLEASE NOTE: The eye posing will not work properly if you drag the viewtarget slider to zero. What you should do is lock the viewtarget to the neck (or head) and then drag the slider to zero. Then use the eyecoverage, and other eye flexes to properly position them. (That's how I did it anyway.)
Also, super sonic's model is the same as his base model, so that means that you will have to pose his spines up, sorry. Like every other smash ultimate model on the workshop, this model uses bodygroups, not flexes. The model retains its original rigging from the game, but the bones have been renamed to bip_bones (the main ones anyway.)

No, I am not accepting request, so please don't ask. Also no, I am not porting this to garrysmod, HOWEVER if you know how to take sfm models and make them gmod compatible, go ahead, just please credit me for the original sfm port because I worked really hard on this.

I do not own the model(s) or character/props within this submission. Sonic the Hedgehog is property of Sega, and the models are made by Bandai Namco Studios Sora Ltd.. All rights are reserved to those companies. I simply ported them to Source Filmmaker.

Yeah, that's the thing with the smash models. They swap out different models for different facial expressions, so you can't animate them traditionally. You'll have to use the rig script I put in the description to animate the bodygroups. Same thing applies to his eyebrows.

However, I am working on another ""enhanced"" port that takes elements from his smash 4 and ultimate model. It will have a rigged mouth and eyebrows and shapekeys for each.
