Alpha class Fighter (VAN)

The Alpha class was designed to replace the Douglas series of fighters, as the Douglas, while a very good fighter design, was becoming old, and with their uparmor modifications became unacceptably unmanuverable. The Alpha's design parameters were freed up more so than the Douglas, as the Enterprise class Carriers could load larger fighters than other ships. Thus, the result was soon put into production, and while slightly heavier than a Douglas Bravo, her armament included an extra pair of Gatling guns, as well as the ability to swap them out for Rocket pods if required.
