*** DESCRIPTION / DISCLAIMERS ***

The Starwarden MK I is an ancient colonial heavy cruiser used to maintain law and order on the
border territories while providing critical support and utility to defend humanity's fragile foothold on the intergalactic stage.

DISCLAIMER: This is a roleplaying co-op scenario-based craft that is featured in a campaign I've been building. As such, this vehicle may not be suitable for all games / playfields / environments. It's a big expensive hunk of flying death metal.

For now this is a teaser for the scenario and some of the ships / vehicles / planets associated with it, with bits of story scattered throughout the craft that reveal several characters and elements of the starter missions.

*** FEATURES ***

=COMBAT=

• Multilayered combat steel w/ reinforced hard points. Critcal components are separated and spread throughout the hull framework.
• Maximum allowable weapon platforms arranged in a staggered formation that covers 360°
- Projectile Turrets: 5x Cannon, 7x Minigun
- Rocket Turrets: 5x Rocket, 5x Flak
- Laser Turrets: 5x Pulse laser, 5x Plasma
- Launchers: 4x Rocket launchers, 6x Pulse
- Point Defense: 8x sentry turrets covering main hangar and hangar wings.

* Special note about turret targetting priority: These are setup to take out what is actually a threat (enemy turrets / mounted weapons), followed by what will disable a grid (generators). Resetting the targeting priority will result in the guns just shooting at random stuff that could be buried behind 20 layers.

=UTILITY=

• 2x Multi-turret
• 6x Drill module
Note: These are located on the back of the ship and can be accessed via the utility cockpit on the upper Nav bridge.

Harvest capacity: 120k (expandable)

Garden/Farm: 42 plots

• 4x Advanced constructors
CARGO
- 2x 208k cargo containers w/ connected logistics
- 12x cargo palette (96k)
- 2x 144k ammo storage

Note: I would not consider this a dedicated hauler. There is a lot of room for additional expansion in the forward auxilliary bay (this is left unused by design). A quick approximation for cargo and limits:

Vessel weight (kg): 82.2 (kt)

• Standard gravity (1.03g): 138.8(kt) (you may not be able to hit this limit with available storage – in this case, fill out the auxillary bay to your liking)
• Higher gravity (2.0g): 31.8(kt). For reference, this amount of weight is equivalent to some full CVs on their own.
• Higher gravity (2.5g): 8.8(kt)
• 3g : Doable, but NOT recommended. You won't really be able to haul much cargo w/o using the rear thrusters to move about. This is a very big heavy ship so bringing it into very high gravity carries with it risks.

Additonal note: Tested with atmospheric density of 2.0 – this is higher than normal. The engines will not yellow/redline even at 2.0. Beyond that, YMMV.

HANGAR BAYS
1 large combination 13x7 rear bay, 2 wing access bays for small SV / HVs. Note: You could drive a small craft from one wing to the other on the upper access corridor, but it'd have to be pretty small.

O2
Each major section is compartmentalized. Breaches will not vent the entire ship.

CUSTOM GROUPS/SIGNALS:
- Cruise: For space travel or lower gravity environments
- Utility grids: constructors, multi-turrets, drill modules
- Point defense: Sentry turret grid for covering access points
- ATMO weapon: Disables all weapons not usable in atmosphere

NAVIGATING THE SHIP
There are quite a few rooms, nooks, and crannies. I really couldn't fit them all in the screenshots. This ship was initially designed as a POI that is fought through and cleared in levels (and eventually restored to a fully functional CV). It may seem a bit confusing at first, but remember: everything can be accessed via the 2 access lifts and central access corridor.


FINAL NOTE: PVP

I would not consider this a PvP ship, so folks judging based on that criteria please take note. That being said, it does have certain PvP design elements. It will not instantly fold in a fight. The entire front half of the ship could be completely destroyed and it would still *basically* function. Still, if I were to give it a PvP makeover, that would be a different build.

Glad you like the design. I'ts been a long time since I fired up Empyrion - probably before the official release. I'd really have to take a look at whats changed to see if these old designs are even possible in the new releases. The stuff I built was kinda pushing the limits even back then in terms of practicality and if there are even more limitations now, it doesn't bode well.

Just a shout out to the epic space opera design. I tried updating it to RE with core 9 (base core + 8 upgraded cpus), adding shields and boosters. I had trouble maintaining the internal decks and space in the original layout. I eventually scrapped the rebuild. @HP any chance you'll bring this back into action with the latest hooplah?

I play regularly on USG server, so there I can slap on some CORE engines + shields/warp and be good to go in no time. But in my strict RE playthroughs this could use some love.

I downloaded the ship and have been making the necessary updates to it (Shield, Tier 4 CPUs, etc.). With your permission, i could upload the fixed design ,once i have properly fixed it up that is. That is if you are not updating it yourself.

fyi there are new cores you can loot in vanilla that give unlimited cpu witch would allow you to build this without any cpu constraints.

I randomly found this and was impressed just by the setup. I always appreciate great preview images especially the staged role playing shots and in-action shots. Good work!
